Pulmonary Fibrosis Model
Our pulmonary fibrosis model targets closing the current gap in developing therapies that can cure disease and not just manage it. Our model recreates the physiology of the human alveolus by incorporating several key players in pulmonary fibrosis disease, including cellular components, biochemical stimulants, and mechanical architecture. By co-culturing primary human alveolar epithelial cells, interstitial fibroblasts, pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells, pulmonary pericytes, and immune cells, we aim to provide a cutting-edge platform that enables testing of multiple pathways and targets in order to work toward a cure for this debilitating disease.
